About FTEA

Austin
Austin came to FTEA in 2004 at 11 years old. He is a big boy! He is nearly 17 hands tall, and a registered chestnut Quarter Horse gelding. He was previously a teenager’s show horse, until she moved on to another horse. She graciously offered Austin to us, knowing he would get a good home and enjoy his new job. We’re thrilled to have him for independent riders, larger adults and anyone who could use a bit more horse. Austin is a gentle giant. In spite of is size he has wonderful manners and is always polite and well behaved.
Bungee
Bungee came to FTEA in 2004 at 20 years old. He’s a bay American Quarter Horse gelding who worked hard as a school horse the previous three years before coming to us.
Cherry
Cherry, came to us at 19 in the summer of 2005. She is a registered American Quarter Horse mare that is cool under pressure. A deep rich chestnut colored horse, Cherry has spent the last nine years trail riding with her previous owner. Her previous owner is a loyal supporter of FTEA and the benefits of therapeutic horseback riding and knew Cherry would fit into our herd well. Her past experience as a lesson horse (before her career on the trail) taught her the patient skills that made her transition to a therapy horse a natural progression. She is gentle by nature and equally patient; a real lady.
Doc
Doc is a chestnut gelding registered as Doc’s Tag and Out with the American Quarter Horse Association. He was foaled on April 1, 1985 in Missouri, and came to us through a horse dealer.
Flower
Flower is a chestnut pony mare who was 6 years old when she came to FTEA in 2001. It is believed that Flower began her life on an Amish farm. She came to FTEA after working for a pony ride and entertainment provider.
Holle
Holle is a red dun, American Quarter Horse mare, foaled in 1981. Her AQHA registered name is Hello Glow. Before being donated to FTEA in 2004, she was a young girl's pleasure horse. In 2007, Holle was retired to live out her days with an FTEA volunteer.

Prompt
Prompt is a chestnut Thoroughbred gelding foaled in 1980. He was registered with the Jockey Club of America and had a brief career at the track, then used as a hunter/jumper before joining FTEA.
Tiffany
Tiffany came to FTEA in 2002 at 22 years old. She is a chestnut Arabian mare. Tiffany came to us already trained as a therapy horse. She had been “employed” for some time at another therapeutic center, and they found themselves with too many horses.
